Enrico Pace

Enrico Pace è nato a Rimini. Ha studiato pianoforte con Franco Scala, prima al Conservatorio Rossini di Pesaro e, successivamente, all’Accademia Pianistica di Imola. Ha inoltre studiato direzione d’orchestra e composizione.
La sua carriera ha avuto una svolta decisiva nel 1989 con la vittoria del Primo Premio al Concorso Internazionale Franz Liszt di Utrecht. Da allora Enrico Pace si è esibito regolarmente in recital in tutta Europa, includendo apparizioni al Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, a Milano (Sala Verdi del Conservatorio e Teatro alla Scala), Roma, Brescia/Bergamo, Firenze, Berlino, Monaco di Baviera, Dortmund, Dublino e in varie città del Sud America. Partecipa regolarmente ai festival di La Roque d’Anthéron, Rheingau e Husum.
Ha suonato con orchestre prestigiose, tra cui i Münchner Philharmoniker, i Bamberger Symphoniker, l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Rotterdam, l’Orchestra Filarmonica della Radio Olandese, la BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, le Orchestre Sinfoniche di Sydney e Melbourne (come parte di una tournée in Australia e Nuova Zelanda), l’orchestra S.Cecilia di Roma, la Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester, MDR-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Varsavia, l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Malmö, la RTE National Symphony Orchestra, l’Orchestra Sinfonica G. Verdi di Milano e l’orchestra Toscanini di Parma.
Ha collaborato, fra gli altri, con i seguenti direttori: Roberto Benzi, Yakov Kreizberg, Andrei Boreyko, Gianandrea Noseda, Lawrence Foster, Mark Elder, Walter Weller, Janos Fürst, Eliahu Inbal, Kazimirz Kord, Jiri Kout, Gianandrea Noseda, Vassily Sinaisky, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Bruno Weil e Antoni Wit.
Recentemente ha debuttato con la Koninklijk Concertgeboworkest di Amsterdam diretta da David Robertson.
Agli impegni solistici Enrico Pace affianca un’intensa attività cameristica: ha collaborato con il Quartetto Keller, Quartetto RTE Vanbrugh, Quartetto Prometeo, la cornista Marie Luise Neunecker. Ha preso parte a vari festivals di Musica da Camera quali Delft, Risør in Norvegia, Kuhmo in Finlandia, West Cork in Irlanda, Stresa, Lucerna ed Edinburgo.
Dalla stagione 1997-98 Enrico Pace ha instaurato un’assidua collaborazione con il violinista Frank Peter Zimmermann, con il quale ha dato recital in Europa, Estremo Oriente e Sud America ed ha effettuato registrazioni radiofoniche e discografiche.Sony Classical ha pubblicato la loro interpretazione della sonata n 2 di Busoni e delle Sonate complete di Bach per violino e tastiera.
Dal 2006 si esibisce in duo anche con il violinista Leonidas Kavakos con cui ha anche partecipato a diverse produzioni radio televisive: recentemente ha preso parte alla registrazione dei trii di Mendelssohn, sempre per Sony Classical.
Dal 2008 è Docente di pianoforte presso l’Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo.

Enrico Pace was born in Rimini. He studied piano with Franco Scala, first at the Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro, and then at the Accademia Pianistica of Imola. He studied orchestra conducting and composition, too.

In 1989 he won the First Prize at the International Franz Liszt Competition of Utrecht. Since then Enrico Pace has regularly given recitals all over Europe, including at the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, in Milan (Sala Verdi of the Conservatory and Teatro della Scala), Rome, Brescia/Bergamo, Florence, Berlin, Monaco, Dortmund, Dublin and in various South American cities. He regularly takes part in La Roque d’Anthéron, Rheingau and Husum festivals. A very esteemed soloist, he performed with famous orchestras, as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Holland Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sidney and Melbourne Symphonic Orchestras (as part of a concert tour in Australia and New Zealand), the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester, the MDR-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (substituting Marta Argerich in a series of successful concerts in Switzerland and Italy), the Brno Statal Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malmö Symphonic Orchestra, the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, the G. Verdi Symphonic Orchestra of Milan, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, the Gelders Orchestra and the Johannesburg and Cape Town Orchestras.
He worked together with many conductors like: Roberto Benzi, Andrei Boreyko, Mark Elder, Janos Fürst, Juniki Hirokami, Eliahu Inbal, Jan Latham-Koenig, Kazimirz Kord, Jiri Kout, Alexander Liebreich, Gianandrea Noseda, Vassily Sinaisky, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Bruno Weil and Antoni Wit.
Among his recent successes we can mention his debut with the Münchner Philharmoniker under Yakov Kreizberg, the Bamberger Symphoniker and Walter Weller and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda.
Apart from his soloist performances, Enrico Pace plays chamber music with famous quartets as the –ostakoviË, Keller, RTE Vanbrugh, Prometeo Quartets and the horn player Marie Luise Neunecker. He took part in many Chamber Music festivals like the Delft, Ris∏r in Norway, Rheingau in Germany, Kuhmo in Finland, West Cork in Ireland, Stresa and Lucerne.
Enrico Pace has been playing with the violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann since the 1997-1998 concert season, giving recitals in Europe, Far East and South America.
In 2006 Sony Classical published their recording of the Sonata per Violino n.2 by Busoni.
Enrico Pace has been performing very frequently with Leonidas Kavakos in all Europe, since 2006.
